MY AUS VISA — CHILD VISITOR 600 PREPARATION CHECKLIST
Reviewed: 26 September 2026

Keep this worksheet private. It is not a visa form, a legal-consent document or an exhaustive attachment list. Do not email child identity or custody documents to MyAusVisa.

FOR EACH CHILD'S OWN APPLICATION
[ ] Check the child's actual passport and the overseas Tourist stream rules.
[ ] Prepare the child's passport identity page and birth certificate naming both parents, or an official alternative if the birth certificate is unavailable.
[ ] Identify every person who can legally decide where the child lives and any guardianship or court orders.
[ ] If a person with that legal right will not travel with the child, check the current Form 1229 or statutory-declaration consent instructions and required identity evidence.
[ ] If using Form 1229, read its certified-copy checklist for the birth record (if not already lodged), the responsible person's identity and any sole-responsibility evidence. One identity document must show that person's signature.
[ ] If the child will stay with someone other than a relative or legal guardian, check whether Form 1257 and a nominated carer are required.
[ ] Explain the child's travel purpose, dates, accommodation, who accompanies the child and who pays.
[ ] Translate non-English records as Home Affairs directs and follow the child's own ImmiAccount attachment prompts.
[ ] Watch for case-specific requests and read the child's written visa decision before travel.

Form 1229 is not for a child applying for ETA 601 or eVisitor 651. Check the actual visa page for those routes.
