Your Saudi residence permit does not change the visa list
ETA (601) and eVisitor (651) eligibility follows the citizenship and passport you will use to travel. A Saudi passport is not on either current list; for a temporary holiday or family visit, start with the overseas Visitor 600 Tourist stream. A US passport may qualify for ETA, while a German passport may qualify for eVisitor or ETA. An Indian or Pakistani passport does not gain ETA access by living in Saudi Arabia.
Check the full official rules for your exact passport type and circumstances, especially if you hold more than one citizenship. Australian and New Zealand citizens should follow their separate entry guidance.

Choose the visa for what you intend to do
For a temporary visit on a passport without ETA or eVisitor access, read the overseas Visitor 600 Tourist stream. It covers tourism and visits with family or friends, not taking an Australian job. A longer course, work or joining family to live in Australia has different visa requirements. Use the official visa finder and the full page for your selected route before gathering documents or paying.
The Tourist stream for applicants outside Australia requires you to be outside Australia when you apply and when Home Affairs decides it. Your nationality and usual residence may affect what evidence or follow-up is requested; neither alone decides the outcome.

The Embassy in Riyadh does not decide visas
The Australian Embassy in Riyadh says it does not process Australian visa applications or answer individual visa enquiries. Use the official Australian ETA app for an eligible ETA; Home Affairs says not to apply for an ETA in ImmiAccount. For a different visa lodged in ImmiAccount, use it to check messages and upload requested documents. Follow the exact visa page and any individual letter for the channel that applies.
Older Saudi Embassy FAQ and VFS pages mention centre locations and paper lodgement. Those pages are useful background, but do not rely on an old address, opening hour or blanket biometrics instruction. Use Home Affairs' current overseas-services directory and your own request letter before travelling to a centre.

Check the letter for AUI before booking a centre
Home Affairs lists Saudi Arabia as a country where eligible applicants can use the Australian Immi App. You need a valid passport and a biometrics request letter with a visa lodgement number beginning AUI. The app guides you through a passport scan and live photo. If the number does not begin AUI, follow the letter's instructions to attend an Australian Biometrics Collection Centre instead.
Biometrics are not a visa decision. Check the deadline, method and current service location for your application. If you cannot complete the requested step, explain the problem through the official application channel and wait for instructions; do not assume it has been waived.

Explain your actual life and travel plan
For a Visitor 600 Tourist application, describe the planned visit, how it will be funded and why you intend to stay temporarily. If you live in Saudi Arabia on another passport, relevant work, family or residence records can help explain your usual circumstances when the application asks for them. A residence card alone does not prove eligibility or guarantee a grant. Use the specific document prompts in ImmiAccount and translate non-English records as Home Affairs directs.
Watch your application for health, character or further-document requests. Read the written grant for its validity, stay period and conditions before finalising travel. A collection-centre receipt or an agent's message is not a grant notice.
