Show funding for your actual visit
The overseas Visitor visa (subclass 600) Tourist stream requires enough money for your Australian stay. Home Affairs' public guidance gives evidence examples rather than a universal bank-balance figure that guarantees a grant. The visit length, accommodation, travel costs, people you are paying for and any genuine host support change the amount you need to explain.
Funds are one part of the application. Home Affairs also assesses whether you intend to visit temporarily, meet other requirements and can leave at the end of the stay. A large balance alone does not replace a clear purpose or accurate application.

Connect the amount to dates and plans
Write down your intended number of days, cities, accommodation, return or onward travel, food, local transport, insurance and other realistic costs. Note what you expect to pay yourself and what another person has actually agreed to pay. This is a planning aid for a consistent explanation, not a Home Affairs form or an official calculation.
If a host will provide accommodation, say so accurately; do not count a promised free room as cash in your account. If several travellers apply, each needs an application. Explain who will fund each traveller and follow the documents requested for each case.

Add up your own trip costs
Use estimates for the same travellers and whole trip, all in one currency. Include amounts paid by a host when estimating the full trip; record who pays separately in your private worksheet. This total does not determine a required bank balance, funds evidence or a visa outcome.
Enter your estimates to see the known subtotal. The complete total is unknown until every cost has an amount.
The calculator code adds amounts in your browser and does not submit or store them. Clearing or reloading removes them. Site tracking is described in the privacy page.
Bank statements are one example, not the whole story
For the overseas Tourist stream, Home Affairs lists itemised personal bank statements for a three-month period, payslips, audited accounts, tax records, term deposits and credit-card statements as possible funding evidence. Its separate visitor-preparation page also mentions recent bank statements. Use genuine records that match your situation and show money available for the trip and departure.
A short statement screenshot with only a closing balance may leave the source and availability of funds unclear. If there is a large recent deposit, a truthful explanation and relevant supporting record can help put it in context. Do not borrow money briefly, alter a statement or claim another person's funds as your own. Follow the actual attachment prompts in ImmiAccount.

Explain the support and show the supporter's funds
If a relative or friend in Australia invites you, their letter can explain the relationship, visit purpose, length of stay and whether you will stay with them. When that person will pay for your stay, the Tourist stream page says to provide evidence of their funds. State exactly what they will cover, such as accommodation or daily costs, and what you will pay yourself.
An invitation or a host's bank statement does not guarantee a Visitor 600 grant. Tourist stream support is also different from formal sponsorship under the separate Sponsored Family stream. Check which stream you are actually applying for before using sponsorship forms.

Funds and return plans should agree
Home Affairs asks visitors to show reasons to return to their home country or usual country of residence. Relevant examples include ongoing work, study, immediate family, a right to return and major assets. An employer leave letter or current study record may help explain the trip alongside financial evidence. Use what is true for you; do not submit every example just because it appears in a list.
Check that the stated trip length, sponsor or host, employment, bank records and itinerary tell a consistent story. Scan documents clearly in colour and translate non-English documents using Home Affairs' instructions. Keep account statements and other financial records in your own secure files; MyAusVisa does not collect them.
